From md to Limon, Colorado

We are now in Limon, Colorado, about 40 miles east of denver.  The Rockies loom in the distance.  Sorry, no pictures to really speak of yet.  The most snow we have seen so far was actually in West Virginia.  Everywhere else, I think we had more in Maryland last week.  The most memorable thing so far was to see the St. Louis arch lit up at night.  Al took a picture, but it was too far away and as you can see, you really can't see it too well.  I need to start taking the pictures instead of Al.

Al will tell you that it was me that got the truck stuck on the curvy ramp going to the parking garage in St Louis, but in reality Al told me to drive up the ramp.  The truck was too wide, so we got stuck.  We were lucky to be able to get it out, but all those people waiting behind us got a good show.  I made Al get it out.  Ha Ha!! I got the last laugh.

We passed 5 gates in Kansas.  If there had been snow, they may have been closed as the snow blows across the road so bad that it becomes a white-out and you can't see.  When this happens they close the gates until it is passable.  The sunsets are spectacular.  pinks, purples, blues, and reds.  Al called 511 for the road conditions in the rockies and tonight the melting was just starting to freeze up in the high elevations.  We will be going through about10 or 11 a.m. tomorrow.  Maybe, if you are watching www.cotrip.org  you might just be able to see us on one of the webcams.  This is so exciting, but also a little intimidating.  Anyway, we will see how tommorrow goes.
